The kitchen team consists of people with different personal and educational backgrounds. During the course, the employee gains practical training and experience with the daily management of a café/restaurant. The kitchen prepares lunch, dinner and buffets with warm and cold dishes for smaller and larger groups. We make healthy and tasty food and offer both meat and vegetarian dishes. We use only fresh ingredients and prepare all dishes from scratch - e.g. we bake our own bread daily.

After a trainee period, the restaurant helper is offered advancement to bar manager. This entails opening and closing the bar and breaking in new restaurant helpers.

DTP'er
Kultursats works as an advertizing agency. We produce pr-material for Kulturgyngen; event-, monthly- and topical flyers and folders, as well as material for management. In addition, we also produce some material for customers. Familiarity with computers is an advantage, but not a requirement. Training is done while working towards specific goals, taking advantage of individual strengths and qualifications in the daily work. We often assist the staff of Kulturgyngen with general computer problems, aiming to give a confidence and desire to work in the IT field.

Information Worker
Kulturgyngen's information office is a busy work-space, telephones ringing, information and messages being passed along, people coming in from the street for advice and counselling. Information workers are in the center of communication, a multi-facetted role where coordination, precise and timely messages, and appropriate communication are the key words. In addition, secretary and some administrative tasks are to be expected. Courses in communication are available.

Booking
As an employee in booking, daily tasks involve booking bands and acts, finding interesting cultural offers, public relations, text work (monthly programs, press releases etc.), miscellaneous administrative tasks, coordination with bar personel and technical employees, with accounting, printing and more. We offer a dynamic and creative environment in the music business.

As a technical employee at Gyngen, practical experience in sound- and stage-work comes as a part of the daily tasks. Being a part of the technical side of concerts and shows, the opportunities for later employment and education are strengthened. Daily tasks include deployment and maintenance of sound and lighting equipment, in a "technical coordinator" role, coordinating with janitors, booking and bar personel, as well as solving day-to-day techincal problems.

Janitor
Kulturgyngen's janitors are responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the Gyngen restaurant; concert room, band room, toilets, drains, stairs, copy room, bathroom, windows, workshop, outdoors area and more. The janitor group also participates in the distribution of Kulturgyngen's PR material, so some office-related tasks are included in the job.

Kulturgyngen is a private company of its own. The project is funded through the restaurant, and through grants and support from public as well as private foundations.

Through the daily work you'll gain practical training in and experience with bookkeeping, and become praticed in use of programs such as Navision and Excel.
